Really interesting clouds on the way to the Inyo Mountains

We left Friday afternoon of Labor day weekend

62 miles to the next services! And that's IF you stay on the asphalt, which we aren't.

We left the TearDrop trailer in camp & went out exploring. That's the Saline Valley below
thumbnail
This sign was on the ground & totally faded.
thumbnail
This is the old road into Death Valley. It's still a good road, but it may scare some people.
thumbnail
Like maybe some idiot that left these rocks behind. It's not their right to block the road.
thumbnail
So Brian & Dave unblock this public road
thumbnail
Why do some people try to keep other people from using a public road? This road has been on the map for years & years
thumbnail
But an easy job anyway

I collected some Mormon Tea (Ephedra) here
thumbnail
after researching it, discovered that only the Chinese Ephedra has ephidine alkaloids.
thumbnail
But local ephedra does make a nice decongestant tea, if you need that.

The road back the way we came
thumbnail
We stopped here to collect some very dry firewood.
thumbnail
So dry it just *snaps*
thumbnail
Back in camp everybody gets busy

The fire is big now to make good coals for the dutch oven dinner
