Really interesting clouds on the way to the Inyo Mountains
We left Friday afternoon of Labor day weekend
62 miles to the next services! And that's IF you stay on the asphalt, which we aren't.
Brian & Annette set up a full on kitchen with a roof & everything.
Louise & Dave just opened the TearDrop galley

We left the TearDrop trailer in camp & went out exploring. That's the Saline Valley below
This sign was on the ground & totally faded.
This is the old road into Death Valley. It's still a good road, but it may scare some people.
Like maybe some idiot that left these rocks behind. It's not their right to block the road.
So Brian & Dave unblock this public road
Why do some people try to keep other people from using a public road? This road has been on the map for years & years
But an easy job anyway
Brian squeezes by
Dave takes the hard way!
Just kiddding!

Those are metal bars. I'm told that the bats had problems after they were installed. Misguided helping?

The walls fell out from under this roof
What a mess!

Sunday morning! The girls in the kitchen cooking up something good

Good day to read & relax, or fix the solar panel. It turned out to be a loose connection.

I collected some Mormon Tea (Ephedra) here
after researching it, discovered that only the Chinese Ephedra has ephidine alkaloids.
But local ephedra does make a nice decongestant tea, if you need that.
Joshua Trees

The road back the way we came
We stopped here to collect some very dry firewood.
So dry it just *snaps*
Back in camp everybody gets busy
The fire is big now to make good coals for the dutch oven dinner
6:30pm 9/5/04

According to the guestbook, this cabin still gets a fair amount of use
