This is our approximate path from Valley Wells (North of Trona) through the “Escape Trail” Fish Canyon, Coyote canyon, Goler Wash, Mengle Pass, to Striped Butte Valley & The Geologists Cabin.
Friday night we camped in the Slate range (Dark area in first 1/3 of our path). Found a nice almost flat spot. Beautiful view, and very dark. Interesting to see a few hundred tiny lights come on far across the dry lake (looking north). Some mine- I guess they are still in operation.
Took the Jeep & TearDrop trailer up Mengle Pass. It was a bit rough, but not bad.
